multiple postdoctoral positions are available at the institute of fundamental and frontier sciences, university of electronic science and technology china located in sichuan province, chengdu, china. uestc is one of the top research universities in china, while chengdu is an amazing city with modern infrastructures with a convenient subway, high speed rail and two airports.
the positions are currently for two years, but the contract could be extended up to five years with considering the research achievements. candidates who are broadly interested in the area of heat and mass transfer and energy are encouraged to apply. some suggested research topics may include: (i) molecular dynamics method for heat and mass transfer analysis, porous media, and multi-phase flows (ii) battery simulation (experimental experience has an advantage), (iv) lattice boltzmann method for single-two phases flows. this list is not intended to be exhaustive and candidates with other interests are also welcome. hired postdoctoral researchers are highly encouraged to form their own research directions and collaborate with both local and international researchers.
eligibility criteria:
(a) applicants should possess a ph.d. in mechanical/chemical engineering/applied mathematics or a related field.
(b) ability to speak and write english is necessary for this role.
(c) applicants have to be less than 35 years old.
we offer:
(1) a two year contract with a one year probationary period, which is renewable up to a maximum of six years.
(2) a basic salary starting at 150,000 to 200,000 yuan per annum. candidates with strong cvs can also apply for additional grants (national grants such as“博新計(jì)劃” or postdoctoral talent program) which brings the salary up to a maximum of 400,000-450,000 yuan per annum.
(3) free/subsidized housing near campus.
(4) 10,000 yuan per annum travel subsidy which can be used to travel back to your home country (only for non-chinese postdocs).
